**Preparing for your appointment
Please consider the following
If any of the following apply to you prior to your service it may cause a negative reaction when coloring or chemically treating your hair in the salon. It is NOT IMPOSSIBLE to reach your goal hair when the following occurs, but it may take multiple sessions to result in your ultimate goal for coloring etc. Please ask if you have any further question on how the following may affect your appointment.
Does the following apply to you?
+ Previously colored hair- Color-treated hair (i.e. highlights, balayage, full color) professionally or done at home within the last 2-3 years.
+ Damaged hair- Repeatedly lightened or color layered on your hair resulting in over porous, damaged hair. Including, thermal damage, excessive use of hot tools, (i.e. flat irons, curling irons, or blow dryers.
+ Use of metallic dyes- most commonly known as box color.
+ Permed hair- straight perms and or curl perms do not take chemicals or bleach well and may speed up the process of lightening in an unsafe way.
"Honesty is the best policy," be honest with yourself and your stylist. Although having done previous processes to your hair will affect the end result, if you are not honest about what has been done previous to your appointment it may cause more trouble in accomplishing your hair goal in the future.
Even if it has been years since you've last colored, permed, or etc to your hair it is still present.
***Choosing the color thats best for you
There is a lot to consider when choosing which color is best for you.
1) First things first; set a realistic goal. Take into mind what we spoke about above. Has your hair been previously colored, damaged, or have you been using different metallic dyes, or have permed your hair in the recent years. If you said yes to any of the previous scenarios, don't get too ahead of yourself. It will definitely take more than one session so look for more subtle & natural colors to choose for your first session.

2) Will you be able to maintain your hair. How often are you willing to visit the salon to maintain your color or cut.

3) Find inspiration, or your goal hair! Use different sites for sources to choose a photo that you LOVE! Choose a photo where the model has similar physical traits as you, length of hair, skin tone, face shape, eye color. My favorite sites to use are pintrest & instagram. Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

What do you like about this photo? What do you not like about the photo? Is it the hair that you like or the pretty girl in the photo? Do you like the color or tone of her hair? Do you like the placement of where her color is?

Be realistic and honest with yourself. Prepare for a long appointment or appointments! Patience is KEY.
